Everyman’s rights
Everyman’s rights allow you to
- move on foot, ski, and cycle in nature, such as in forests, natural meadows, and water
- ride
- stay and camp temporarily in areas where roaming is allowed
- pick wild berries, mushrooms, and unprotected plants
- fish and ice fish
- boat, swim, and wash up in water and walk on ice.
Everyman’s rights do not allow you to
- interfere with the landowner’s land use
- walk on yards, gardens, or cultivated fields
- cut down or damage growing trees
- take dried or fallen wood
- take moss or lichen
- start an open fire on someone else’s land
- disturb domestic peace by camping too close to residences or making noise
- litter the environment
- drive a motor vehicle off-road
- disturb or damage bird nests and chicks
- disturb animals
- fish and hunt without the necessary permits
- let your dog onto public beaches, children’s playgrounds, ski tracks, or sports fields
- keep your dog unleashed in urban areas, on exercise paths, or on someone else’s property
- keep your dog unleashed between 1.3. and 19.8. even on your own property.
