Koskenjoki
Viralantie, Virala.
A scenically beautiful rapids location where the waters of Alajärvi, Munakkaat, and Suojärvi flow towards Viralanjärvi. The open waters in winter attract dippers. The Virala village association’s lean-to is located by the Koskenjoki river.
There are no signs from Viralantie to the site, so it’s advisable to navigate using a map.
Parking: There isn’t an official parking lot, but there is a parking spot nearby for the car.
Fishing in Koskenjoki
In Koskenjoki, the so-called general fishing rights apply. By purchasing a state fishing card, for example from an R-kiosk, one can fish with one lure. The local fishing community sells permits to area residents only, and fixed nets are practically not used in Koskenjoki. Privacy must be respected, meaning a sufficient distance from houses must be maintained.
