Guided library visits for groups
The children’s department’s program offerings focus on grades 1-3 of elementary school. However, you can choose any program, and we will tailor it to suit each age group. Each program session also includes borrowing.
Preschools
We listen to stories and discuss together, watch puppet theater, and get to know the library.

For all elementary schools
Reading diplomas and literature diplomas
The purpose of the reading diploma lists and assignments is to encourage more reading. As a reading diploma participant, you will receive a diploma as a reward for your reading hobby at the end of the school year. You will receive a literature diploma at the end of the sixth grade if you have completed four reading diplomas during elementary school. You can find information about reading diplomas, book lists, and assignments at this link.
Class sets
Class sets are book packages intended for schools in Janakkala. Each class set contains at least 25 copies of the same book.
Class card (also for preschools)
Teachers can obtain a library card for borrowing classroom books and class sets. Preschools can obtain a group-specific library card.
Material packages (also for preschools)
Teachers and preschool staff can order a material package on a desired topic from the library. If the library bus visits the school/preschool, we will deliver the materials directly. By arrangement, you can also pick up the material package from the main library or Tervakoski library.
Cultural path (also for preschools)
The cultural path is a shared cultural education plan for Janakkala’s schools and preschools, a tool for equal and accessible culture. The cultural path serves as a tool to schedule various culture and art content in the daily life of preschools and schools. You can learn more about the Cultural Path at this link.
Nepsy corner
The nepsy corner in the main library offers ideas for everyday situations for all families with children, especially for families with children exhibiting neuropsychiatric (nepsy) traits. The goal of the nepsy corner is to provide families with easy and consolidated information, ideas, and methods to support smooth daily life.
The nepsy corner includes nepsy-related information and materials as well as a related book list. You can get ideas on how to utilize visual support and where to find more information. The book list features nepsy-themed books, including both non-fiction and novels for children, youth, and adults.
