Wage subsidy is a financial support that the South Häme employment area provides to reimburse employers for part of the salary costs of unemployed job seekers. Employers can receive wage subsidies only for hiring individuals registered as unemployed job seekers. The wage subsidy is either 50% or 70% depending on whether it is due to a lack of professional skills or reduced work capacity.
The employment relationship can begin only after the wage subsidy has been granted to the employer, and it must be applied for through the Regional Administration’s e-service. Read more about wage subsidies.
When you announce an open job on the Job Market Portal, please also indicate whether you are interested in hiring with the help of a wage subsidy. We can make job offers to individuals for whom a wage subsidy can be granted if agreed upon together.
Janakkala municipality’s own financial support for employment, granted annually as long as funding is available.
The employment voucher can be granted for a new employment relationship to hire a Janakkala resident, registered as a job seeker. Employment services will check the possibility of granting an employment voucher. The employment voucher must be applied for before the employment relationship begins.
General Conditions:
- The business must apply for the employment voucher before the employment relationship begins. The granting of the employment voucher depends on the personal customer’s situation. The grant is made by the employment and integration services.
- The employment voucher can be granted as a preliminary decision, and funding is subject to the available budget.
- The employment voucher can be granted to a Janakkala resident job seeker who is assessed to have challenges in connecting to the labor market. The assessment is made by the municipality’s employment and integration services expert together with the head of employment and integration services.
- The decision to grant the employment voucher is made by the head of employment and integration services or a directly substituting official.
- The employment voucher is paid as a one-time support to the business, which bills the municipality. The support for an employment relationship fulfilling the employment condition for one year is 3000 euros (€). The fulfillment of the employment condition must be verified before the support is paid.
- In cases where the job seeker’s employment condition is also fulfilled during a wage-subsidized [1] employment relationship and the employment relationship lasts at least 10 months (months), the support is 1000 euros (€).
- For shorter employment relationships in the granting of the employment voucher, where other granting criteria are met, the one-time compensation follows a calculated compensation, i.e., for example, after a six (6) month employment relationship, the support paid to the business for fulfilling the employment condition is 1500 euros (€).
- Employment services use discretion in granting and paying the support. The approval of the support is conditional upon the employer’s impeccable conduct and compliance with collective agreements.
Grant Criteria:
- The employment voucher supports full-time work.
- The duration of the employment relationship must be at least one year or structured in a way that the employment condition is demonstrably fulfilled.
- The employment voucher is granted for employment months where the employment relationship is full-time and the employment condition is fulfilled.
- [1] The employment voucher is generally not granted for wage-subsidized employment relationships.
- Exceptions are those fulfilling employment conditions, which according to current law include employment support granted to individuals over 55 years and wage subsidies granted due to reduced work capacity.
