Children’s swimming schools

Beginner swimming courses are intended for children aged at least 5 years who do not know how to swim.

Advanced beginner swimming courses are intended for at least 5-year-old children who can already float, dive, or swim a few meters on their back or in a crawl.

Spring 2025 swimming course periods

During spring, three children’s swimming course periods will be held at the Tervakoski swimming hall. The beginner swimming course is on Mondays from 16:45 to 17:30, and the advanced beginner swimming course is from 17:30 to 18:15.

Registration opens two weeks before the start of the swimming course period. Each group can accommodate 9 registered participants, after which we will accept 3 children on a waiting list. Janakkala residents are prioritized during registration. Residents from outside the area can register on the waiting list, and we will inform if spots are available.

The Technical Committee will decide on the pricing for the swimming courses in its meeting on December 10, 2024.

2nd period

March 3, 2025 – March 31, 2025 (5 sessions)

Registration opens on February 17, 2025, starting at 8 AM

• Beginner swimming course 16:45-17:30. FULL
• Advanced beginner swimming course 17:30-18:15. FULL

3rd period

April 14, 2025 – May 19, 2025 (5 sessions), NOTE: No course on April 21.

Registration opens on March 31, 2025, starting at 8 AM

• Beginner swimming course 16:45-17:30. FULL
• Advanced beginner swimming course 17:30-18:15. FULL

Summer 2025 swimming courses

Certification courses for children who are at least 5 years old.
Participants aiming for early/water skills badges and beginner badges swim in the children’s pool, while those aiming for activity badges mostly swim in the large pool.

The swimming courses will be held on weekdays.
The price for the swimming course is €38, which includes 7 swimming lessons and a swimming badge. More information about swimming badges.
9 participants will be accepted in the group on a first-come, first-served basis.

1st summer swimming course period

June 2 – June 10, 2025 (7 sessions), the swimming course will be held on weekdays (Mon-Fri, Mon-Tue)

Registration opens on May 19, 2025, starting at 8 AM

1. 16:45- 17:30 early/water skills badge group
2. 17:30- 18:15 beginner badge group
3. 18:15- 19:00 beginner badge group

2nd summer swimming course period

June 11 – June 19, 2025 (7 sessions), the swimming course will be held on weekdays (Wed-Fri, Mon-Thu)

Registration opens on May 28, 2025, starting at 8 AM

1. 16:45- 17:30 early/water skills badge group
2. 17:30- 18:15 beginner badge group
3. 18:15- 19:00 activity badge group
