Welfare Grants
Welfare Grant
Application period is March 14 – April 15, 2025
Decisions on welfare grants will be made by the welfare board on May 8, 2025.
The welfare grants support and encourage associations and organizations to promote the well-being, participation, and equality of the residents of Janakkala. When granting grants, equal treatment of associations is considered, prioritizing those associations that cannot apply for specific grants for sports, culture, or village activities.
Welfare grants support concrete actions or purchases to promote the well-being of residents. The funded activities must be open to everyone and free for participants. Support can be received for events, trips, purchases, training, or other projects. The budget for 2025 is €7,000, with a minimum grant of €100. The activities must take place during 2025. Support is paid retroactively based on costs. For justified reasons, support can be paid in advance. Funding will not be granted for costs incurred before the application is submitted.
When granting grants, attention is paid to the planning, goals, and impact of the activities to be funded. The applicant for the grant must commit to the municipality’s general grant principles.
The electronic grant application must clarify the purpose and goals for which the grant is being applied:
- what will be done with the grant
- the costs of the funded activities
- how the activities will be organized in practice
- description of the target group of the funded activities
- assessment of the number of participants
- timeline of the activities
- potential partners in the activities

- the association’s action plan and budget for the grant period 2025
- the 2024 financial statement, including the income statement, balance sheet, and activity report (preliminary)
- information on grants received from other sources (state, municipality)
- rules (if a new applicant or if the rules have changed)
